Manage your QR codes

Everything you need to know about creating, customizing, editing, and managing your QR codes in RecodeQR.

Create a QR code

  1. From your dashboard, click Create QR code.
  2. Choose the type: most users start with Link, but you can also pick Text, vCard, Email, etc.
  3. Enter your destination or content.
  4. Choose Static or Dynamic (dynamic lets you track and edit later).
  5. (Optional) Customize access controls or internal tags.
  6. Click Next to design your code, then hit Create QR code.

Your QR code will appear in your dashboard, ready to scan.

Edit a QR code

Dynamic QR codes can be edited anytime.

  1. Click the QR code from your dashboard.
  2. On the detail page, click Edit.
  3. Update the destination, access controls, tags, or design.
  4. Click Save changes — updates take effect immediately.

Static QR codes can't be edited after creation.

Pause or delete a QR code

To temporarily disable or permanently remove a QR code:

  1. Open the QR code from your dashboard.
  2. Click the ••• menu in the top right.
  3. Select Pause or Delete.

Paused codes won’t redirect until reactivated. Deleting is permanent.

Download a QR code image

You can export any QR code in multiple formats.

  1. Open the QR code from your dashboard.
  2. Click Download.
  3. Choose the format: PNG, JPEG, SVG, PDF, or EPS.

For most cases, PNG works great. Use SVG or PDF for print.

Picking a QR code destination

QR codes can point to a variety of content types:

  • Link – open a webpage or URL
  • Text – show plain text when scanned
  • vCard / MeCard – add contact info
  • SMS / Call – start a phone action
  • Email / WiFi / Event / Crypto – trigger contextual actions

Choose the format that best fits your use case when creating the code.

Add logos and customize style

To brand your QR code:

  1. In the Create QR code or Edit screen, scroll to Design.
  2. Change foreground/background colors.
  3. Upload your logo, or pick a preset icon (YouTube, Instagram, etc).
  4. (Optional) Enable remove background for cleaner logos.
  5. Preview your code and adjust as needed.

Keep contrast high and avoid over-styling for better scan reliability.
