Manage your QR codes
Everything you need to know about creating, customizing, editing, and managing your QR codes in RecodeQR.
Create a QR code
- From your dashboard, click Create QR code.
- Choose the type: most users start with Link, but you can also pick Text, vCard, Email, etc.
- Enter your destination or content.
- Choose Static or Dynamic (dynamic lets you track and edit later).
- (Optional) Customize access controls or internal tags.
- Click Next to design your code, then hit Create QR code.
Your QR code will appear in your dashboard, ready to scan.
Edit a QR code
Dynamic QR codes can be edited anytime.
- Click the QR code from your dashboard.
- On the detail page, click Edit.
- Update the destination, access controls, tags, or design.
- Click Save changes — updates take effect immediately.
Static QR codes can't be edited after creation.
Pause or delete a QR code
To temporarily disable or permanently remove a QR code:
- Open the QR code from your dashboard.
- Click the ••• menu in the top right.
- Select Pause or Delete.
Paused codes won’t redirect until reactivated. Deleting is permanent.
Download a QR code image
You can export any QR code in multiple formats.
- Open the QR code from your dashboard.
- Click Download.
- Choose the format: PNG, JPEG, SVG, PDF, or EPS.
For most cases, PNG works great. Use SVG or PDF for print.
Picking a QR code destination
QR codes can point to a variety of content types:
- Link – open a webpage or URL
- Text – show plain text when scanned
- vCard / MeCard – add contact info
- SMS / Call – start a phone action
- Email / WiFi / Event / Crypto – trigger contextual actions
Choose the format that best fits your use case when creating the code.
Add logos and customize style
To brand your QR code:
- In the Create QR code or Edit screen, scroll to Design.
- Change foreground/background colors.
- Upload your logo, or pick a preset icon (YouTube, Instagram, etc).
- (Optional) Enable remove background for cleaner logos.
- Preview your code and adjust as needed.
Keep contrast high and avoid over-styling for better scan reliability.
